What would your first thought be if you saw the headline above in the paper?
Summertime is in full swing and while I enjoy swimming and going to the beach, I am also missing the hills of Tennessee. We try to visit once a year to a small town in Grainger County where my husband's family comes from. Grainger County's claim to fame? TOMATOES. These tomatoes are famous throughout the region and also sold to markets in Canada, Mexico, and even Harrods in London! I didn't understand all the hoopla until I tasted one myself. Wow! The best tomato I have ever had.

July 4th is here, the anniversary of our country’s independence. What does it mean to you?

As Father’s Day approaches, we think of our Dads and how much we appreciate all they have done for us. My Dad was a very special man. I never fully realized until I was an adult how much he had to sacrifice for me, especially as a single parent of a 10 year old child.
Although my husband and I could not go to DC with them, we did have the honor of welcoming these men and women home from one of the Central Florida Honor Flights last October. The majority of the vets that we welcomed home that night served during World War II, however, we did see one gentleman that had a hat indicating that he served in WWII, Korea and Vietnam, truly a dedicated serviceman!
Family is very important to me and I thank God for the love of my family. I was deeply touched and would like to share the following tribute that my daughter did for my mother:
Yep! It happened to me.
