A group of US Senators have sent a letter to major US utilities, several telecom and cable companies, asking them to suspend utility shutoffs for the duration of the COVID-19 pandemic.

In a press release, the FTC announced it issued Special Orders to five large technology firms, requiring them to provide information about prior acquisitions not reported to the antitrust agencies under the Hart-Scott-Rodino (HSR) Act.

FCC Commissioner Jessica Rosenworcel announced the release of a new episode of her podcast, Broadband Conversations.  The newest episode features NASA Astronaut Kate Rubins. In 2016, Kate spent 115 days in space aboard the International Space Station. She completed two space walks—for a total of almost 13 hours of spacewalk time. She has a doctorate in cancer biology from Stanford University Medical School and was the first person to sequence DNA on space. Listeners will get to hear Kate describe how she became an astronaut, how being “off planet” gave her a new perspective on the world, and what its like working in zero gravity. Read More

FCC Commissioner Jessica Rosenworcel announced the release of her latest Broadband Conversations podcast with her with her guest, Congresswoman Norma Torres—the only 911 operator serving in Congress. Congresswoman Torres spent 17 years as a 911 operator for the Los Angeles Police Department.  Rosenworcel said: “Before a whistle on a fire station blows, an ambulance races, or an air horn blares, it is a 911 professional who takes in a call and sets emergency response in motion.
