U.S. Senators Tammy Baldwin (D-WI),Cory Gardner (R-CO), Jerry Moran (R-KS) and Jack Reed (D-RI) announced they introduced the National Suicide Hotline Designation Act (S2661) that directs the FCC to designate 9-8-8 for the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline. This line would include the Veterans Crisis Line for veteran-specific mental health support. Additionally, the legislation will authorize the ability of states to collect fees to ensure local call centers are able to support increased volume.

FCC Chairman Pai issued  the following statement in response to the announcement by the Alliance for Telecommunications Industry Solutions (ATIS) that it has selected iconectiv as policy administrator of the SHAKEN/STIR call authentication framework.

Energy and Commerce Committee Republican Leader Greg Walden (R-OR), Subcommittee on Communications and Technology Republican Leader Bob Latta (R-OH) and Subcommittee on Consumer Protection and Commerce Republican Leader Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-WA) sent a letter to Chairman Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ) and Subcommittee on Communications and Technology Chair Michael F. Doyle (D-PA) requesting the committee work together to find a bipartisan solution for net neutrality.
