Today's Regulatory Mix: FCC Proposes Fine for Form 477 Filings, FCC Authorizes CAFII Support for Mississippi Broadband Deployment,  FCC Announces Status of RDOF Applications

The FCC proposed a $163,912 fine, the maximum amount allowed by law, against Internet service provider Barrier Communications Corporation d/b/a BarrierFree for apparently: (1) reporting inaccurate information that significantly inflated its broadband subscription numbers; (2) failing to file required deployment data; (3) making false statements to FCC investigators; and (4) failing to respond to other inquiries.

Form 477s – Not just for the FCC anymore!

By now, everyone should be familiar with the FCC’s Form 477 Report.  Of course it’s more than a “report”, consisting of text files showing a providers voice and broadband subscription counts by census tract and broadband deployment by block.  The Form 477 is due twice each year on March 1 and September 1.
