Today's Regulatory Mix: FCC E-Rate Funding Guidance, FCC Seeks Comment on 5G Fund Adjustment Factor

 

2020 FCC SealFCC E-Rate Funding Guidance 

The FCC has issued guidance to USAC on E-rate Competitive Bidding Rules for FY 2020.  Specifically, it reiterated the guidance previously communicated to USAC regarding the treatment of E-Rate applications for which the applicant mistakenly selected a drop-down menu option on its FCC Form 470 that did not fully reflect the services for which it intended to seek bids.

CA Cap BldgCalifornia Enacts New Law Adjusting PUC Audit Requirements  

California has enacted a new law that would now require the commission to audit the books and records of each telephone corporation if the utility has over 10,000 customers and would require the commission to review or audit the books and records of the utility if the utility has 10,000 or fewer customers. The bill would require these reviews or audits to be conducted for regulatory purposes, rather than regulatory and tax purposes.
