FCC Seeking Comment on EEO Enforcement
The FCC is seeking comment on how it can make improvements to its equal employment opportunity (EEO) compliance and enforcement. The FCC has administered regulations governing the EEO responsibilities of broadcast licensees since 1969, and of cable television operators since 1972. Its EEO rules prohibit discrimination on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin or sex (and for Multichannel Video Programming Distributors, or MVPDs, also age), and require broadcasters and MVPDs to provide equal employment opportunities.
