FCC Approves More Telehealth Applications

top view of Medicine doctor hand working with modern computer and smart phone on wooden desk as medical concept-1In a press release, the FCC’s Wireline Competition Bureau approved an additional 43 funding applications for the COVID-19 Telehealth Program. Health care providers in both urban and rural areas of the country will use this $16.87 million in funding to provide telehealth services during the coronavirus pandemic.  To date, the FCC’s COVID-19 Telehealth Program, which was authorized by the CARES Act, has approved funding for 132 health care providers in 33 states plus Washington, DC for a total of just over $50 million in funding.

 

FCC Announces New Members to NANC and Working Groups

The FCC announced that Chairman Ajit Pai has appointed additional members to serve on the North American FCC front doors angle-1Numbering Council (NANC) and its working groups: Numbering Administration Oversight, Interoperable Video Calling, Nationwide Number Portability, Toll Free Number Assignment Modernization, and Call Authentication Trust Anchor.

The NANC is organized under, and operates in accordance with, the provisions of the Federal Advisory Committee Act.  The NANC was created to advise the FCC on numbering issues and to make recommendations that foster efficient and impartial number administration.
