FCC Announces Upcoming NANC Meetings The FCC has announced the next meetings of the North American Numbering Council (NANC). The meetings will be held Tuesday, July 14, 2020, and Tuesday, July 28, 2020. Both meetings will be conducted via conference call and available to the public via the Internet.

At the July 14 meeting, the NANC will consider and vote on recommendations from the Numbering Administration Oversight Working Group on the Billing & Collection Fund Size Projections and Contributions Factor and from the Toll Free Number Assignment Modernization Working Group on the analysis of the 833 Toll Free Number Auction. At the July 28 meeting, the NANC will consider and vote on recommendations from the Nationwide Number Portability Working Group on an analysis of the Internet Protocol Local Routing Number solution and from the Interoperable Video Calling Working Group on the implementation of the “database approach” to determine whether an originating video call can be completed to a receiving device and service. This agenda may be modified at the discretion of the NANC Chair and the Designated Federal Officer (DFO).

The FCC has changed the address for filing hand-carried documents at it’s headquarters and established a new closing time for accepting such filings. Effective upon publication in the Federal Register (not yet occurred), hand-carried documents are to be filed at the FCC’s office located at 9050 Junction Drive, Annapolis Junction, MD 20701. After COVID-19 restrictions are lifted, this will be the only location where hand-carried paper filings for the FCC will be accepted. At that time, the filing window for hand-carried documents will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. The FCC will not accept hand-carried filings outside of those hours. These changes are being made to enhance security measures and in conjunction with the FCC’s upcoming relocation to a new headquarters building located at 45 L Street, NE, Washington, DC 20554, which is scheduled to occur later this year.
