FCC Announces Approval of More Telehealth Applicants

FCC meeting room-1-1The FCC announced the approval of an additional 13 funding applications for the COVID-19 Telehealth Program. Health care providers in both urban and rural areas of the country will use this $4.2 million in funding to provide telehealth services during the coronavirus pandemic.


To date, the FCC’s COVID-19 Telehealth Program has funded 30 health care providers in 16 rural healthcarestates for a total of $13.7 million in funding. As part of the recently-enacted CARES Act, Congress appropriated $200 million for the FCC to support health care providers’ use of telehealth services during this national emergency. The FCC began accepting applications on April 13, 2020 and will continue to evaluate applications and distribute additional funding on a rolling basis.
