Maine Reschedules Hearing In Pole Attachment Proceeding

New Call-to-actionThe PUC announced that due to the recent storm and the ongoing restoration efforts, the hearing in this Docket that had been scheduled for November 1, 2017, has been rescheduled for December 6, 2017.  The deadline for comments regarding the proposed changes to Chapter 880 rules is December 18, 2017.

Oklahoma Opts-In to FirstNet Plan

Governor Mary Fallin announced that Oklahoma will opt-in to the FirstNet program.  "Today is a good day for Oklahoma as we opt in to FirstNet and give our first responders the broadband network they need to excel at their jobs,” said Fallin.  The FirstNet network will transform the way Oklahoma’s first responders communicate and share information by providing them with access to the modernized devices, apps, tools and other resources they need to operate faster, safer and more effectively. 

 

US House Committee on Energy and Commerce Hosts FirstNet Hearing

The Subcommittee on Communications and Technology held a hearing on November 1, 2017, entitled “Oversight of FirstNet: State Perspectives.”  Witnesses included Robert LeGrande (The Digital Decision LLC), Brian Moran (Virginia), Michael Poth (FirstNet), Christopher Sambar (AT&T), and John Stevens (New Hampshire; See the Regulatory Mix dated 10/18/17).  In her opening statement, Subcommittee Chairman Marsha Blackburn noted that among the issues is the December 28th deadline for those States and territories to elect whether they will accept the FirstNet plan and debate on schedules of fees, subscriber levels, device availability, and whether the network will be able to deliver mission critical level services.  Click here to see the witness statements and other documents.
