The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) issued a Public Notice reminding providers of inmate calling services that the deadline for the submission of annual reports and certifications is April 1, 2021.  Requests for confidential treatment must adhere to the standard set forth in section 0.459(b) of the FCC’s rules; casual requests for confidential treatment (including simply stamping pages ‘confidential’) will not be considered.

The Wireline Competition Bureau (Bureau) was tasked by the Federal Communication Commission (FCC) to identify milestone dates for submission of information by broadband providers electing to participate in the Emergency Broadband Benefit Program (EBB Program).  In a Public Notice released this afternoon, the Bureau announced the following:

FCC Releases Emergency Broadband Benefit Program Fact Sheet 

The FCC has released a Fact Sheet on the Emergency Broadband Benefit Program (EBBP) conveying important facts to consumers about the new Federal Program. It provides a simple breakdown of the EBBP benefits and eligibility requirements. 

 

NANSI 911 logoNASNA - State 911 Administrators Association asks Congress to Invest in NG911 

The National Association of State 911 Administrators (NASNA) has called on leaders of Congress to spearhead efforts to upgrade the nation’s emergency communications infrastructure by making Next Generation 911 (NG911) a national priority and providing critical Federal funding to NG911 deployment across the country.
