Colorado Adopts 911 Rules

The Colorado Public Utilities Commission (PUC) has denied exceptions filed by the Larimer Emergency Telephone Authority (LETA) from an October 2017 decision adopting 911 rule changes.  The PUC has adopted the rules set out in the October 2017 decision with only non-substantive edits.  The rules will be effective 3/2/18.

The FCC’s Wireline Competition Bureau announced that the 25th Local Number Portability Administrator (LNPA) Transition Outreach and Education Plan (TOEP) webcast was held on February 14, 2018 at 3:00 PM ET.  It was hosted by Price Waterhouse Coopers, LLP, the Transition Oversight Manager (TOM) for the LNPA transition.  The objectives for the TOEP webcasts are to provide transparent communications regarding the LNPA Transition; serve as an open forum to gather and understand needs and concerns; and incorporate feedback to improve future communications.  Materials from prior TOEP sessions as well as other LNPA transition reference documents are available here.

 

FCC CAF II Auction Workshop

The FCC announced it will hold a workshop on the application process for the Connect America Fund Phase II (CAF II) auction on March 14, 2018, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.  The workshop will include detailed information about the CAF II auction application system.  It will be hosted by the FCC’s Rural Broadband Auctions Task Force  in conjunction with the Wireless Telecommunications and Wireline Competition Bureaus.  Audio and/or video coverage of the workshop will be provided over the internet from the FCC’s web page at https://www.fcc.gov/live.
