FCC Mobility Fund Phase II Comments

The FCC announced the date for filing comments on the Further Notice of Proposed Rulemaking in connection with the Connect America Fund Mobility Fund Phase II.  The FCC is seeking comment on the parameters for the process used to determine whether areas are eligible for funding.  Specifically, the FCC seeks comment on the guiding principles for the challenge process and on potential structures for that process.  Comments are due April 12, 2017; reply comments are due April 27, 2017.

Nevada Universal Service Fund Assessment Proceeding

The PUC announced new workshop and hearing dates in connection with its ongoing proceeding to revise its rules governing the Nevada Universal Service Fund (USF) in order to maintain the availability of telephone service in Nevada.  On April 13, 2017, the PUC will hold two workshops: one to solicit comments on proposed rules regarding the Nevada USF high cost support request and withdrawal processes (Phase I) and one to consider a proposed rule setting forth a process to adopt a list of revenue types to be included and/or excluded from Nevada USF assessments (Phase II).  A hearing in each matter will be held on April 17, 2017.  Written comments may be filed by April 5, 2017.
