THE REGULATORY MIX AND BLOG ARTICLES

logo-2015-design.pngThere are a lot of unique "given names" in existence today…Apple Martin (Gwyneth Paltrow’s daughter), North West (Kim Kardashian and Kanye West’s daughter), and of course there have been stories of people naming their child “Facebook”!

But there are some folks, like me, that have traditional names that can be spelt in various ways that make them unique.  My name is Tammie with an “ie” instead of the traditional “y”.

Do you have a name that has multiple ways that it can be spelt?  Are you Aidan or Aiden?  How do you spell it, Michelle or Michele?  How about Brian or Bryan?  Is it Amy or Aimee?  You get the picture. There are probably multiple ways to spell almost every name.

DR_Tammy_movie.pngOne of the nice things about having a non-traditional spelling is that you don’t get all of those lovely souvenirs with your name on it,  You know, the key chain or shot glass from Orlando or Las Vegas that your favorite relative just knew you had to have from their recent vacation.

tammy_and_the_doctor.pngI was actually named after the old Debbie Reynold's/Sandra Dee movies “Tammy and the Doctor”, “Tammy and the Bachelor” . . . there were a bunch of them.  I don’t know what possessed my mother to spell mine with an “ie”, but I’m glad she did, because it does make me feel unique!

So the next time you send an email, text or letter, be sure you spell the name of the person you are sending the correspondence to correctly, otherwise, they may not know you are addressing it to them!
