Robin Norton, valued consultant and long time employee will retire from her position at Technologies Management, Inc. (TMI) on December 31, 2014. Since joining TMI in 1998, Robin worked diligently with local, long distance, operator service, and inmate service providers on state and federal regulatory compliance issues, providing outstanding support services to every client with whom she worked. Using her prior experience as a key staff member at the Florida Public Service Commission, Robin assisted our clients in developing and defending policy positions on a myriad of telecom regulatory issues including: confinement service, price caps, wireless certification requirements, mergers and transfers, and operator service regulations.

Wireless Substitution: Early Release Estimates From The NHIS

National Health Interview Survey (NHIS) preliminary results for January through June 2014 indicate that the number of American homes with only wireless telephones continues to increase. More than 2 in every 5 American homes (44%) had only wireless phones during the first half of 2014 – an increase of 3% since the second half of 2014.

TMI, the Energy Marketing Conference, and the Maury Show?

After a long day of exhibits and sessions at the Energy Marketing Conference in New York, see our Blog “TMI attends the Energy Marketing Conference,”dated 3/6/14 my co-attendee, Tom Forte, and I left for JFK Airport on the afternoon of February 27th feeling tired, but thoroughly enthused by our participation in the Energy Marketing Conference. Our cab ride to the airport was filled with conversations about the innovative companies we had learned about and the entrepreneurial spirit we had witnessed among the Energy Service Companies (ESCOs) in attendance.

Technologies Management, Inc. (TMI) recently participated in the first Energy Marketing Conference (EMC) on February 27, 2014, in New York at the Affinia Hotel. The board member companies for the Energy Marketing Conferences, LLC include: Energy Choice Matters, TrustedTPV, Concentric Energy Advisors, Advanced Energy Capital, Customized Energy Solutions, and Northbridge Energy Partners. The event was well attended and we were very pleased to be able to attend the informative conference sessions (a rarity for exhibitors at events like this due to the overlapping scheduling of exhibits hours and conference sessions).

IP Network Transition? Unlike humans, not everything is in a hurry.

In December of 2013, the FCC’s Technology Transitions Policy Task Force said that its immediate goal is to understand the impact of technology transitions, including the transition to an all-IP Network, on consumers through diverse experiments and open-data initiatives. Commissioner Wheeler has his hands full as consumers, service providers, politicians, and the press push for ever faster migration to the better technology and how regulation will or will not be applied.
