Carey’s telecommunications consulting expertise involves a broad range of services, including state and federal regulatory strategies, M&A, market entry/certification, advocacy, compliance, and pricing. Carey also spends much of his time guiding intercarrier agreements and resolving intercarrier compensation disputes. Carey has provided expert testimony in numerous telecom cases including subjects such as intercarrier compensation, tariff compliance, and call completion. He enjoys borrowing from these experiences to deliver lively presentations to clients and industry groups.
Carey has been a Consultant at Inteserra since the early days of competition in telecommunications resulting from the 1996 Telecom Act. His initial perspective on telecom regulatory matters was formed during his tenure with the ILEC now known as CenturyLink where he held various regulatory and business planning positions. Since that time, Carey has guided many clients through constantly changing regulatory policies and technological innovations which have characterized the telecommunications industry over the last 20 years. His clients include large and small companies from both developing and established telecom markets, and include intermediate carriers, cable providers, wireless resellers, and application service providers.
At home, Carey is a devoted husband, father of four sons, and dedicated tinkerer. He enjoys riding dirt bikes in rural central Florida, especially when riding one he has rebuilt.
