Written by Fran Martens | 10/25/16 5:03 PM

The Regulatory Mix, TMI’s daily blog of telecom related regulatory activities, is a snapshot of PUC, FCC, legislative, and occasionally court issues that our regulatory monitoring team uncovers each day. Depending on their significance, some items may be the subject of a TMI Briefing.

FCC Open Meeting

The FCC has revised the start time for its October 27, 2016, Open Meeting.  See the Regulatory Mix dated 10/21/16. The meeting will now start at 9:30 a.m. rather than 10:30 a.m.  In addition, the FCC reversed the order of the items to be considered so that the four enforcement items will be heard first, followed by the item concerning adoption of a Report and Order on broadband privacy rules.

West Virginia Transfer of Control

The PSC has approved the petition for consent and approval for transfer of majority control of i-wireless to Sprint and transfer of a wireless lifeline customer base served by Sprint’s subsidiary, Virgin Mobile, to i-wireless, a designated ETCClick here for a copy of the PSC Order.

Puerto Rico Lifeline

The Junta Reglamentadora de Telecommunicaciones (JRTPR) will hold a workshop for carriers and prospective providers of broadband services regarding the FCC’s Lifeline Reform on October 27, 2016 at 9:00 am.
