Today:  FCC Revised A-CAM Support Amounts, Nebraska Workshop on NG911

FCC Revised A-CAM Support Amounts

The FCC announced 217 revised offers of Alternative Connect America Cost Model (A-CAM) support and the associated revised deployment obligations.  The report shows the revised state-level offers of model-based support and revised deployment obligations for each carrier that has already been authorized to receive A-CAM, and is therefore eligible to elect a second revised offer. These carriers have until June 21, 2017 to notify the FCC’s Wireline Competition Bureau, on a state-by-state basis, whether they elect to receive the revised amount of model-based support. Earlier this year, the FCC directed the Bureau to offer additional support up to $146.10 per-location to all carriers that accepted the first revised offers of model-based support.  Under this second revised offer, all locations with costs above $52.50 will be funded up to a per-location fund cap of $146.10, and the deployment obligations will be adjusted accordingly.

Nebraska Workshop on Next Generation (NG) 911

The Nebraska PSC will a workshop on June 13, 2018, to obtain input from interested parties as to how it should implement recent legislation directing it to determine how to allocation 911 funds to facilitate development of NG911.  Among other things, the legislation requires the PSC to: determine how to allocate 911 funds to facilitate the planning, implementation, management, and maintenance of 911 service; create a mechanism for determining the available funding levels for the various 911 entities, including infrastructure providers; and establish standards and criteria for disbursements from the fund.
