FCC First 100 Days Under Chairman Pai
FCC Chairman Pai released a document summarizing the FCC’s efforts to bring the benefits of the digital age to all Americans during the first 100 days of his Chairmanship. This includes efforts to: close the digital divide, modernize rules and eliminate unnecessary regulatory barriers, promote entrepreneurship and innovation, protect consumers and promote public safety, and increase agency transparency and reform agency processes. Among the specific accomplishments noted are setting rules for the CAF Phase II auction and CAF Mobility Fund Phase II, launching proceedings to boost deployment of wireline and wireless broadband, revising the regulatory framework for business data services, streamlining the USOA rules, adopting a small provider exception from the Open Internet/Net Neutrality enhanced transparency rule, and commencing an investigation into the March 2017 AT&T 911 outage.
Pai also recapped these accomplishments in a speech before the American Enterprise Institute.
